The Healthcare Innovation Challenge was established in 2022 by then Institute of Medical Science students, Serena Peck and Kayvan Aflaki, as an initiative to provide educational opportunities and support graduate and professional program students at the University of Toronto in pursuing a career in healthcare leadership and innovation.
